Season 2: Light

What a journey blogging and now podcasting have been over the last several years. At one time I wanted to be a craft blogger. Another time I wanted to write and share stories. And another time I wanted to be a full-fledged influencer and share about self love and fashion (me? I know) and all the things. And, of course, at other times I've just wanted to share about creativity or yoga or whatever was on my heart and mind at the time.

I've gone through a lot of phases with my online presence and it has been confusing, especially to me. Who do I want to be? What do I want to share? I want to share all the things. I have so many interests.

Everything I read about blogging, everything I know from my years of marketing experience tell me that I need to niche down. I need to have a focus that will draw my true audience in. Truth is, I don't know what that is. I don't know what I would like to niche down to. And I think a lot of it comes down to who I am.

Who Am I?

I identify myself on my channels as an author, yogi, and disciple of Jesus Christ.

First and foremost, I would love people to look at me and know I follow Jesus. I want to radiate His light and love.

Second, I am a multifaceted, multi-interested, multi-passionate creator. I just like to create and share.

But because I haven't been able to niche down fully, ever, I feel like a deer in headlights, unsure what to share.

I came up with the solution. And i can't tell you how good I feel about it because it feels that good. It's something I have prayed about and truly feel led to do.

But First

Before we get into it, can I ask you a question? Do you ever feel like the world is trying to put you in a box? You are interested in these things so you have to be here, in this yellow box, where people do just these things.

The world makes me feel like I can't just be me, the way God created all of us, full of wonder, creativity, interests, thoughts, passions. Why do we have to be just interested in one thing and feel like we can't venture outside our box?

I get the marketing side of things. I really do. I lived and breathed it for a decade. But that doesn't mean we have to subscribe to it.

We are who we are and we are beautiful and we are God's. Let's be His, truly His.

Talents and Gifts

You know the story in the Bible of the talents? One guy is given five talents, another two, and the last one. The first guy makes his five into ten. The second makes his two into four. And the last buries his talent because he's afraid to use it. Essentially, he wastes it.

In learning about this, I've always been taught that we shouldn't hide our gifts but that we should use them for good and grow them by learning in skill. But today I think it's more than that. We need to not think we can only be good at or interested in one thing. We can dance and play the violin. (Know who I'm talking about?) We can write and teach yoga. We can DIY and show off our fashion interests.

Let's not stick ourselves in a box.

My Solution

So my solution? Oh, yes. It's being me. I'm Sara Ann Comte. I'm an author who writes, teaches yoga, shares my love for Jesus, blogs, podcasts, and whatever else I feel inspired to do. What do I share? What I feel inspired to share.

Yes, I still need a focus. But it's going to change according to seasons. And by seasons I mean episodic seasons, like on TV or your favorite streaming platform. Everything before this last year I'm naming season 0. (Boy, was that a long season!) And everything of this last year to now is season 1.

Season 2

Now on to season 2. And it's a good one. I have it fully planned. And I am so excited!

Season 2 is all about the word LIGHT.

I have so much planned for this. I can't share now, but soon. You'll get it. I promise.

Thank you so much for sticking with me through this life and all my crazy transitions of content. It's been fun, right? Right? (Insert smily, winky face here.)

I hope you'll stick around and enjoy season 2.
