Utah, My Home - a Poem

Recently, I, with my husband and daughter, took a trip to Utah to see family and friends we haven't seen in a few years. I didn't realize how much I missed and love Utah. It's where I grew up. So much of my life and memories are in Utah. It's where I went to school, where I graduated college, and where I met and married my best friend.
I don't know what the future has in store for us as far as where we will live. We're far from our Utah home right now, but who knows, maybe one day we'll be back.

So with that introduction, here is an original, short, and raw poem: Utah, My Home.
Utah, My Home
Mountains majesty
Valleys great
Sky so wide
Earth so firm
Where as I child I dreamed
I soared through wind
Arms outstretched
Ready to float
Yearning to fly
Where as I child I played
Free to discover
Dancing through the grass
Bare feet, eyes closed, face to the sky
Utah, my home
Where I first learned to imagine
Where the stars taught me to dream
Where seasons taught me to feel
Utah, my home
Forever you will be
The heart
The beating
The start
Of everything
I wished
Hoped for
Yearned for
Utah, my home
Full of peace
Love
And breath
One day we will find each other again
Utah, my home
If you wrote a poem about a place, where would it be? Let me know in the comments.

My poem would be of Missouri. Such raw feelings permeate that place. I loved your poem by the way.
